welcome to

Glass Systems Ltd was established in 1988, and has since grown into one of the largest sealed unit manufacturers in the UK.  May 2003 saw the move to a purpose built factory, with an increased capacity of 23,000 sealed units per week.  Glass Systems old site has been converted into a specialist stained and bevelled factory, with capacity to produce up to 500 bespoke designs per week.

Glass Systems Ltd supply a whole range of customers in the domestic, commercial, new build and local authority sectors of the industry, throughout South Wales and the southern half of England.  In 2003 we became one of the first sealed unit manufacturers in the UK to achieve EN1279, the new standard that will eventually replace BS5713.

Our sister company, Vizor Tempered Glass, established in 1996, in 2003 added a fourth furnace - a Tamglass Pro-Convection™ - capable of toughening soft coated glass.  This new furnace alongside the existing three EFCO furnaces, gives Vizor the capacity to toughen in excess of 30,000m2 of glass per week.

The move to the new factory in May 2003, involved a significant investment in new machinery.

Lisec supplied two spacer bar benders, and an auto loading cutting table. The table has edge deletion facilities and can also auto cut laminated glass. The table and benders are driven by new software in the Sales office supplied by Lisec Software.

Bystronic Lenhardt, supplied two robotic sealed unit lines – one with a dual head robot for increased throughput.

The choice of machinery manufactures, proved well founded as in the lead up to the move, and afterwards, the necessary back up and support was forth coming as the staff at Glass Systems went through a very steep learning curve!
